Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax after your journey or begin discovering the atmosphere of Egypt’s fascinating capital city.Cairo is a city where ancient history and modern life exist side by side. From historic neighborhoods and traditional markets to museums, monuments, and vibrant cafés, the city provides the perfect introduction to Egypt’s extraordinary heritage. Optional activities may include visiting Cairo Tower, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, offering panoramic views across the capital and the Nile River.

  Overnight: Cairo

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Egypt’s most iconic ancient landmarks. Travel to the Giza Plateau, home to the legendary Pyramids of Giza, one of the greatest achievements of the ancient world. Explore the three monumental pyramids built for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, including the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the only surviving wonder of the Ancient World. Continue to the Great Sphinx, the magnificent limestone monument with the body of a lion and the face of a pharaoh, standing guard over the pyramid complex for thousands of years. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Cairo. Optional excursions may include a visit to Saqqara, the ancient necropolis of Memphis and home to the Pyramid of Djoser, considered one of Egypt’s earliest monumental stone structures.

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight south to Luxor. Located on the banks of the Nile, Luxor was once the ancient city of Thebes and remains one of the world’s greatest open-air museums, filled with temples, monuments, and archaeological treasures. Upon arrival, begin your sightseeing with a visit to Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious complexes ever constructed. Wander through its impressive courtyards, towering columns, and sacred spaces that were developed over centuries by generations of Egyptian rulers. Continue to Luxor Temple, built over 3,000 years ago and dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship and the worship of the Theban gods. Admire the grand entrance, statues, and ancient Avenue of Sphinxes.

Today, explore the legendary West Bank of Luxor, home to some of Egypt’s most important archaeological treasures. Visit the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of ancient Egyptian pharaohs, where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert cliffs. Discover the fascinating history of rulers including Tutankhamun and learn about the beliefs surrounding the afterlife. Continue to the impressive Colossi of Memnon, two enormous stone statues that once stood at the entrance of the mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Complete your visit with the spectacular Temple of Hatshepsut, a remarkable monument dedicated to one of Egypt’s most successful female pharaohs. In the afternoon, board your Nile River cruise vessel and begin your journey south through the timeless landscapes of Upper Egypt.

Wake up to the peaceful scenery of the Nile as your cruise continues south towards Edfu. Upon arrival, visit the magnificent Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Built between the 3rd and 1st centuries BCE, this impressive sanctuary was dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god of kingship and protection. Explore the towering entrance pylons, beautifully preserved courtyards, and detailed inscriptions that provide insight into ancient Egyptian mythology and religious traditions. Return to the cruise vessel and continue sailing along the Nile, enjoying views of riverside villages, fertile farmland, and traditional Egyptian life unfolding along the banks.

Continue your Nile journey towards Kom Ombo, where you will visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo. Unlike other Egyptian temples, this remarkable structure was dedicated to two deities — Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god. Explore its symmetrical design, ancient reliefs, and beautifully preserved carvings overlooking the Nile. Return to the cruise vessel and continue towards Aswan, one of Egypt’s most scenic cities, known for its island landscapes, colorful Nubian culture, and peaceful riverside setting. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or enjoy optional experiences, such as a visit to Kitchener’s Island Botanical Garden or a traditional felucca sailing experience on the Nile.

 After breakfast, transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, visit the Egyptian Museum, one of the world’s most important collections of ancient Egyptian artefacts. Explore thousands of treasures spanning more than 5,000 years of history, including the famous treasures of King Tutankhamun and a collection of royal mummies. The remainder of the day is at leisure. You may choose to explore Cairo’s historic streets, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy views of the Nile at sunset.

After breakfast, discover the historic heart of Cairo with a guided tour of the city’s Islamic heritage. Visit the Citadel of Saladin, a medieval fortress built in the 12th century that offers spectacular panoramic views across Cairo. Explore the impressive Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, considered one of the finest examples of Mamluk architecture. Continue to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo’s famous medieval marketplace. Wander through narrow lanes filled with colorful shops selling handcrafted jewellery, spices, textiles, traditional lamps, and local souvenirs. Enjoy your final evening in Cairo, reflecting on an extraordinary journey through Egypt’s ancient wonders and cultural heritage.

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your onward journey. Your Egyptian adventure concludes with unforgettable memories of ancient pyramids, legendary temples, Nile landscapes, and the timeless stories of one of the world’s greatest civilizations.
